I’m Back in the United States

It was a good and productive trip to Australia. Got some time to get away, do some thinking and catchup on some work, make some great connections, get some extra exposure and extra advertisers. Only spent about $400 or so but made a thousand or two over $3,000 in extra income - money to send home and money to live on and be able to make a turn-around. Thanks to all the supporterz out there. Now I have to deal with all this crap here.

  • Welcome Back, Good Luck on the uphill battle.

Disclaimer: This post is not meant to mean anything. Please do not sue me or steal my blog because of it.

  • As one of the sitonthefencerz, all I can say is well done!

Returning to face the music can only be a good thing for your own future.

Before I took the decision to fight bankruptcy (i.e. work towards paying my creditors rather than take the easy route) I couldn’t sleep at night.

I now can. Facing up to your past mistakes and handling them as honestly as you can and taking the punishment is commendable.

It may convert the neutral to your side, increase your supporterz and quieten your haterz. In fact, some intelligent haterz will undoubtedly convert to your cause if they see you doing what they wanted all along - tackling your creditors, accepting the legal punishment for what you did, and rebuilding your life.

I think your future success will depend upon how well you turn this into something good and stop dodging or skirting around the issues.

In all, a very good move coming back.

Were you met at the airport by lawsuits as predicted by many posters?

    Casey,
Let’s tease out the real truth here:
CS: “Only spent about $400 or so…”
Reality: ” I spent all of the $1,000 that was given to me so I would keep blogging plus hundreds more. I have no idea how much. I don’t keep track of the small stuff. Details are for loosers.”
    CS: “…made a thousand or two…”
Reality: “Hey, a thousand here, a thousand there, what’s the diff? _ sort of, kind of, I think. Oooh, what’s that shiny thingy?”

  • aack!!

You went all the way to Oz and didn’t even have a BOOST JUICE? What a wated trip!

    thpptt!!

    S_t_C

PS - Welcome back to the USA, where everybody sues everybody else for sport and entertainment! Sounds like you and LossMitPunk are gonna have lots of fun…

  • responsibilities - one can’t escape them forever.

  • Glad you are back in the states Casey. Hope it all goes well for you. Get back to connecting and making some sweet passive income!

  • “Now I have to deal with all this crap HERE”

Where is “here”? Your old bedroom in your parents’ house? A park bench? The V-dubs?

There’s lots of rumors swirling around. Are you going to address them?

  • In fact, some intelligent haterz will undoubtedly convert to your cause if they see you doing what they wanted all along - tackling your creditors, accepting the legal punishment for what you did, and rebuilding your life.

Absolutely, provided there is actual evidence that he’s doing this. Up to now, there’s been nothing that points in that direction and a great deal that suggests the opposite, notably several major revelations over the weekend that he has yet to address.

What would really impress me now would be a full, frank and honest account of exactly what went on in the last three weeks - both in Australia and, more importantly, back in Sacramento. Because either the “haters” are lying or Casey is - their versions completely contradict each other.

And another thing that Casey needs to do (not least for himself) is update his spreadsheet. Things will have changed radically since January, as the properties have been foreclosed upon and half a year’s worth of extortionate interest charges need to be added to the debt. If Casey himself doesn’t know how much he’s in the hole, how can anyone else help him?

  • Good to see you made it back. It is going to be a difficult period the next few weeks.

  • You made the income from selling advertising. You could have done that without going to Australia.
You didn’t just spend ‘about $400′ you spent the fat end of $1k on the ticket out there alone. Money you could have used to pay off debt. Or live off. Or even stage this comeback you keep going on about. (On October 13th you posted about how you borrowed $3k from a friend to stage a comeback. How did that work out?)

Where are you staying now you’d back?

If you do a google search for q******** , you will see that the second link is to “http://www.q******** .com/Serin/”.

This was the ‘Casey and Marty’s MP3 Public Resource’. A page that listed all of the stolen audio files and made them available for download. Hosted on a q******** server.

Of course, the page has now been taken down.

Are you going to sue Mark for copyright infringement?

You did spend more than 1K because you bought 2 one-way tickets to AUS with money, and then there’s the money you spent in AUS. You confirmed that your Canadian donor gave you 1K, so you’re at least at 1400.

You COULD have used that money for rent, food, etc. You did not have to go to AUS.

    Likely, you spent 2-3K

    Keep up the justifications.

  • Call me crazy - but I strongly suspect we’ll see a pic of Casey with an iPhone within 48 hours.

Likely purchased from Ebay for $1′100.

  • Since the post was CONTENT FREE we’ll have to wait and see where the real content will come from.

Who are you staying with? Everyone knows you make a hater out of everyone who gets to know you for more than 2 hours.

Have you finally found a lawyer? Oh, wait - I forgot about your “Power Team”.

What is it that you accomplished in Australia, besides taking pics of kangaroos and furry koalas? I saw a huge vacatiion. Whenever I go on business travel, I never do any sightseeing, dude. A couple of weeks ago I was in Ottawa; guess what: I only saw whatever was between my hotel and the office.

  • TO EVERYONE WHO READ THE PREVIOUS POST…ITS A SCAM…IT REALLY IS…THERE IS NO LAWSUIT…DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

  • I am glad you are back home, Casey.

No “agents” were waiting for you at the airport…. how disappointing that must be for the one-brain-cell scumbags (the haterz). Continue to disappoint the haterz, Casey - that is all that matters.

  • Good morning everyone!

I am a modified early riser™. Many of you have been so harsh in your comments and emails. I had to deleate™ them. I want to be specific with you but I’m having some trouble with details™. When I said I made about a thousand or two, I wasn’t trying to be vague or evasive™, it’s just with exchange rates, I’m really not sure how much it was™.

Someone told me™ that the Aus$ was like $0.89 US$, or $1.16 US$. I could never figure it out™. It was like did I pay 12$ or 9$ for that steak™? (modified vegan™, of course). Also, I really do not consider that $1,000 US (actually by way of Canadia™, so it was either $1,250 C$, or $850 C$ (still haven’t reconciled it™), to be mine because it was donated. Since I never really had it, it wasn’t mive, right™? I mean it was designed to belong to QANTAS and not me so it doesn’t count™.

The same thing for time zones. Because I travelled over the International Date Line, I am really in yesterday instead of today, so while I used to be in the future™ I am now in the past™. Any business advantages I enjoyed™ by living in the future™ are now gone, as I struggle living in the past™. I thought living in the future would be sweet™, but with millions of Australians already their™, I realized it held little advantage for me (except if I could do some sweet™ intercontinental deals). Nope. None to be found. But, I figured I had nothing to loose™ so go for it, right? Maybe, I thought I could fail forward™.

One weird thing, though, no one I talked to in Aus had ever heard of the Outback Steakhouse. Strange, huh?

Anyway, I have a busy day today, unpacking and thinking about finding my mail™ plus holding several key meetings with certain members of my highly qualified™ network of professionals™.

As the day goes on I intend to try™ to update you on y progress.

  • Casey, do not reveal your exact location, you have told us that you are back in the US and that is enough.

Remember that the haterz are criminals, some of them are most likely dangerous as well. The criminal haterz have stolen and re-posted your copyrighted content and they harass your family members who have nothing to do with the mess you are in. This proves they have no ethics, they have no idea what decency is, they are nothing but scumbags!

  • All I can say is…

Put down the shiny and come out with your hands up.

Look at the bright side Casey. If you’re hit with criminal charges, at least you’re entitled to a public defender.

Way to stick it to us W-2 loosers! Our taxes will pay for your defense.

Tell him to quit the coffee, and start drinking wheatgrass juice! Oh wait, that might make his diarrhea (verbal diarrhea that is) worse. Never mind. Nix that idea.

  • Casey-

$400 for a three or four week working vacation? I hope Volume Two of the book series is called “The Vacation Code: Australia (or Anywhere) on 10 Bucks a Day”

Well, hope the book (Volume One) is done: that might be the most important thing. It does look like you made an advertising contact in Yaro.

    July 2nd, 2007 at 11:10 am

What, no U.S. Marsals or Dog The Bounty Hunter scooped your a** ?

  • So having put off the inevitable and made it far worse by allowing it to simmer on the back burner, do you still feel the trip was worth it?

I honestly hope you get help for your bipolor disorder before there’s any more harm to yourself or others.

  • You need to set your priorities very clearly.

    1. Find a place to live. From what I understand your previous place to live in the US has hit a snag.

    2. Retain a lawyer. Explain every to your lawyer clearly. Anything less will be a disservice to yourself and your lawyer.

    3. Explain your actions to your family using small words and simple sentances. I get the impression that they would like an explanation.

    4. Get a job and start earning money with a guaranteed income. This is because the law suit will consume alot of time, energy and money. You will need a guaranteed source of income so you can cover your day to day bills and your lawyer’s bills.

    5. Organize your budget. You need to know exactly how much money you are taking in, how much money you are spending and where it is going. It’s simple: one column that states your income and one column that states your expenses.

  • Why refer to it as crap? Why not say something like, “now I have to deal with the consequences which were created as a result of my actions”? So you went on a 3 week trip half way around the world, smooched off everyone and their mother, blantantly lied about how much money you spent and then you have the never to say that you have to deal with this crap.

Perhaps you shouldn’t have gone to Australia and dealt with the ‘crap’ as it was unwinding? I have a very strong feeling that the ‘crap’ you are seeing now, is going to seem like a vacation in paradise in just a short while. Just wait a few weeks / months.

Do yourself a favor, go back and re read your blog. Take a look at the number of promises, statements, objectives that have been broken. Oh wait, it is every single one of them. Kid, you are unable to follow through on anything yet you want to be a business man with ‘passive’ income.

Get a job, get some education, get some life experience and then you can look for a niche to fill. Right now, you are a joke in everyone’s eyes and while your little blog may get you a few $K per month of so called passive income, dont forget this is very temporary. Your traffic has been dropping big time and a few hundrend bucks of this nonsense is not goign to feed your family (wife and kids if you plan to have some one day).

The other thing would be nice is for you to stop pretending like you are planning on repaying any of those debts back. Maybe some idiot believe it to be true out there, but anyone with more than 2 brain cells sees that you are a joke, and anyone lending you money deserves to never get them back.

  • Hey Casey,

Your ranking on Google is tanking.

    Pity that.

  • Absolutely guarantee 100% that Mark V. is full of you know what. There will be no lawsuit. This is a poker game to him and he is trying an all in bluff. Don’t sweat this at all. The little man is just an internet bully, full of hot air. Time will prove me right.

  • Honestly, boy wonder, who cares?

This blog is dying so fast it’s not even funny anymore. So…are you reporting your “blog revenue” to the IRS as required? It’s a quarterly filing, you know. But then again, your “CPA” would have told you that along with FILE YOUR 2006 TAXES. BTW - you are gonna get hit hard with penalties, but you don’t care because it’s all good right?

  • #22 - “I am glad you are back home, Casey.”

He never said he was home — only that he was back in the US.

  • IAFF is down from an average of 14K visitors a day to 6K in little over three weeks.

That’s a big difference there, Casey. So was it one thousand, or two? You probably have no clue.

From my point of view, the only thing you accomplished with the trip to OZ is pissing off your entire family and digging an even bigger hole for yourself. Not something I would trade in for a thousand or two. Not even for one hundred thousand.

So let me get this straight - over the course of three weeks you made between $600 and $1,600?

I hate to say it, Casey, but that’s really not very impressive - just try comparing it with what the average W-2 job-holding looser will have banked over the same period.

  • This is no longer an amusing story. It is clear Casey, that you have an illness. Anyone who has had a family member or are themselves battling this illness recognizes the impulsiveness and alternating elation and depression.

The meds today will not take anything away from who you are or how you see yourself. They simply offer choices. You won’t feel compelled to act on an idea immediately. Please check into it when you hit the inevitable low. I worry for you.

Your readers want to know what you are doing about your debt. You continue to ignore the hard news, and keep giving us non stop fluff pieces.

  • welcome back man!

hope you get a chance to recover and take care of stuff! I was telling my wife about you today and saying how I felt for you…

  • Actually now that I check my PayPal account and the money I put into our bank account I made over $3K while I was gone, that’s after the $400 or so of expenses.

Thanks to the supporterz who paid for the airfair there and back as well as those who put me up. It was a great trip.

Now it’s time to get back into solving this mess.

  • You need to take advantage of what Lossmitho is doing and turn in it in to publicity for you. Turn what that freaking looser Mark is doing in to a win for you. Get this crap out there and get some good publicity from it. Drive more traffic to your site.

  • What Lossmitwhore is doing, pisses me off. You really need to turn this around on this looser. Fight back. Sue him for libel and damaging your business..

Was that 3K a before tax or after tax figure? Where are you currently living? Did a supporterz really pay for the airfare back to the US or did su madre pay your way?

You had a good run kid, but it’s time to face the music. You made a ton of mistakes but the biggest mistake was listening to all the get rich quick Guru hype. I’ve been to the seminars (but I’m proud to say I’ve never paid to be there) and I know the game, you walk through their door and they already know you have more dollars than sense.

You paid a few grand to be there and they will tell how easy it is, with their special wisdom, to get rich quick in what ever system they are selling (in your case real estate). They make their systems sound so powerful, like as long as you follow them (and pay for ever more expensive programs) you can’t fail. But you, I and everyone who reads this blog know that isn’t the case. And here’s the reason, those seminar speakers are NOT real estate investors, they are SALESMEN.

There is nothing wrong with sales people, it’s an honorable profession but like every other profession there are a few crooks and the folks who stand at the front of a hotel conference room running a powerpoint projector shilling guru crap are pernicious frauds. They make their system sound powerful not by educating you to the complexities of investing but rather by exaggerating the ease and profit potential while grossly understating the potential difficulties and very real risk of loss. You didn’t pay several grand to be told how hard it could be, you paid to hear that you can’t fail.

At the same time they are also using cult like tactics to pump up your ego, fill you with unwarranted confidence and hammer into your head, again and again that ANYONE who tries to talk you out of blindly following their system is some sort of hater who wants to hold you back and steal your dreams. Sound like anyone around here? These are not the actions of educators or even people with your interests at hart. They are the actions of someone who just sold you a $3k seminar and desperately wants to sell you a $12k seminar.

Casey, you have the drive, you have the ambition. If you had the wisdom to look past the bright shiny distraction of all the get rich quick BS and learned the invaluable art of following through on your commitments then someday, after you put all of your current problems behind you, you just might become successful. If you continue to refuse to do those things then the best you can hope for is to some day shill for some seminar guru and use your many talents to delude some other wild eyed would-be investor into the exact same hell you find yourself in today.

  • Casey what is the mess? You need to tell us more, because it isn’t clear. You posted someone was sewing your family. Is that the “crap” and “mess”? If that is all, I wouldn’t worry too much brother man.

  • Casey, simple question for you:
“Since you went to Oz to work on your book, can you tell us how many pages you wrote for the book on your trip?”

  • In general one takes a vacation after a crisis, not during one.

  • Casey:

“Now it’s time to get back into solving this mess.”

    “…back into…”,huh?

I’m afraid it may be too late for that.

It sounds like this mess will be solved by other peoples’ decisions and actions, and you will get to be no more than a passenger in the backseat of your own life.

If it goes the way it’s being rumored, this is gonna hurt a lot more than the nastiest comments imaginable.

I’m not gloating, I’m trying to prepare you.

  • hey that’s awesome. In the time you were gone I made $5200 at my loser W2 job. And, yup, my net worth is well above zero.

    God I’m such a loser.

“Now it’s time to get back into solving this mess.”

Are you going to “look into it” ? “Focus” on it? Maybe a wheatgrass shot will help with that.

What’s first to tackle the mess, hmm lets see. Maybe a nap?

    That’s okay, itsallgood!

After the nap, you can move into your car! Sweet!

  • Casey,

You’re tanking in the SERPs. At a guess, by next Wednesday, you’ll be second page and dropping.

Time to get Toby to actually do some work and only allow posts that serve your purpose. Kind of sad that your comment coolie is killing your rankings, but you can fix it, just get Toby back on track and approving “sweet” posts.

  • That update was CONTENT FREE.

    Please provide content.

  • Casey,

In your calculations did you estimate how much your debt went up by over the last 2 weeks.

Figure @$250k at 15% on average is about $3k per month or $1500 per half month.

So your silly little trip to Australia also cost you $1500 in interest and wasted time. But your time isn’t really worth anything, is it?

Funny thing. I made more than $3500 in the stock market JUST YESTERDAY…….. in money I saved from one of those w-2 jobs you talk so arrogantly about.

I’m in my mid 30s and I own a small business with my wife and do some consulting on the side. But those years of saving away at the w-2 thing certainly have given me the personal freedom to do what I want, when I want. Plus the experience gained along the way teaches you that money doesn’t come easy. Something you seriously need to learn.

Not to mention watching my stocks (mostly international) go up $4-6k per month is, to borrow your word….SWEET!

    400?

Do you not understand that if you hadn’t spent your Canadian Fan’s 1K donation, or whatever you had someone pay for your return trip, you could’ve had 2K more.

So your trip was 3K, you SPENT 2.4K. The fact that you do not account for this “opportunity cost” smacks of ignorance.

600 bucks! Way to go (ASW) flipper

Casey, a couple of questions to be answered in 10 words or less.

    1) Where are you staying?

    2) Do you have a lawyer?

    3) Do you realize the real impact of the $3K you begged… er.. earned? And I don’t mean in a financial sense.

    4) Be honest - is your conscience clear?

  • I think someone suggested in your podcast why don’t you just apply for bankruptcy and then face the music for whatever happens. You seemed to kind of agree with him. I know this has been discussed since last year.

If you think back to last year, your situation is only getting worse by the day. I know you are happy to have made some money with the blog, but you still need to remember why your blog is popular and getting huge media coverage.

You are only getting media coverage because of the complete mess you are in. There are only a couple of other bloggers that I can think of that get mainstream press and they are johnchow.com and problogger.net

They get good press because they are the few people that make a lot of money through their blogs. Mediocre success stories don’t get media attention. Huge successes or huge failures do.

There is just no way you are going to pay off all of the money you owe. If you could save $20K a year, is this even enough to pay the interest?

How many books do you think you will be able to sell? Only 5 per cent of books published sell over 5000 copies. I presume Marty is going to get half the profits? I think your main market for the book will be the Haterz and how long is going to be before someone posts a free version somewhere. My suggestion would be pull out of your current book deal and approach a publishing house.

You should be creating some new property websites to leverage the traffic off your blog. You can set up your own realestate site for less than 100 bucks - shortsaleproperties.com?

Any new business you create you need to remember it has to provide value to people. Concentrate on making money the slow, conservative way. Show everyone that you have actually learnt from your mistakes. I know you hate to hear but getting a job, could be a good way to get some structure back in your life. Work on your websites in the evenings. It will be a hard slog, but I think you really need to get back to the basics. End your run of bad partnerships and start working on things yourself.

One final suggestion - don’t turn on your computer for a weekend and borrow the novel “Bonfire of the Vanities” from the library.

  • It’s good you posted that you make 3K. That way the IRS has hard copy of your statement of income for that time period.

Keep them in the know Casey. Makes it easier for them.

    Doh.

  • Whats going on Casey boy?

    Where are you staying?

Do you have a lawyer yet?

When does the foreclosure book hit the shelves?

    What happened to the Jetta?

    Have you talked to CashCall?

    Where is the Blue Ball?

    Julian-Trailer Park Boy and Hater

Can you explain why you are going forward with your book when its so obviously a copy? Why not change the cover/title?

I’ve also heard there is another one out there with the same cover, The Lap Dance Code.

    Why not change the cover???

You are obviously new around here. Don’t waste your time giving Casey advice. He doesn’t listen. It’sallgood for him, and he is smarter than the rest of us. I suggest you go back to the beginning (reading through the whole blog is pretty entertaining) but if you just read a few early posts and comments you’ll see what I’m getting at. You aren’t really saying anything that Casey hasn’t been told hundreds of times.

  • #63 re: certified mail/service

The info posted in the prior mention claims that it is an ex parte matter. This means it can go before the court with only a single party. These are generally used in protective orders against domestic violence and are often used for injunctive relief when one can demonstrate such a harm exists from the delays necessary with due process as to warrant a court to take action with or without the opposing party present. The courts still generally try to serve due process and notice, etc. but they are not necessarily required to proceed. Of course what can be done in an ex parte hearing or action is fairly limited and usually requires that other processes (the suit itself) already be in motion or they will generally be very short lived. All the formalities and processes are necessary outside of that initial ex parte action.

So if LMP did indeed file and get docketed for an ex parte matter, it may proceed very quick. The court may not agree that such irreperable harm exists to act without the full due process. Just because it is requested and even granted a spot on the docket doesn’t mean it will happen. But it is harder to defend against that if you aren’t there.

  • If you’ve got a little money I have a piece of land in the jungles of Guatemala where you can hide and eat bananas and fruits and berries until things settle down. I think 7 years would be long enough for things to fall off your credit report. Of course the nearest Internet cafe is about 40km from there. A bus runs through there once a week so you can ride on top for 25 cents (US) if you need to blog…but you might have to walk back. You will also have to deal with the muggings, deported gang members and occasionally lynch mobs. Also the banking system there is full of fraud (as is the government) so you might want to hide any money somewhere else. And lastly the guerillas might kidnap you but I’m sure they would release you when they realize that the ransom wouldn’t get paid.

Read post #85 again. This person is right on the mark! In fact, you should print it out and read it over and over again. It could literally help save your future.

  • Dude!

Leverage and arbitrage are totally applicable concepts in prison….

    Think about it:

    Leverage the demand for soap.

5 bars of soap will get you a carton of cigarettes from your cellmate, Bubba.

You can then trade the carton of cigarettes to Miguel (in the next cellblock over) for 8 bars of soap.

Net gain = 3 bars of soap (60% returnz!!!!)

Sweet sweet arbitrage! How you like Casey now, Haterz?!!!

    Casey,

While you actions that led up to this situation were at best ignorant and at worst criminal, my best advice to you is leave the country and get a fresh start. You should have stayed in Sydney.

I was in the same position as you after the tech wreck, except for my financing was legit. I was a Software Engineer making $120K at my w-2 job when the tech wreck happened and I lost my job. I was into 3 deals and carried the float for almost a year, with my savings, but couldn’t get out of any of them because of the IT wreck in Atlanta, nothing intown was selling because it was mostly us IT folks buying at the time.

I decided instead of getting a McJob and paying my debts back to start over. I Walked away from 300K in debts after the foreclosures. Lucky for me my wife is Australian and we moved to Sydney. I now have an executive position in IT with a $175K base salary and another $150K in stock per year.

I also have $120K in credit cards all with zero balances. With the cash from our w-2 jobs my wife and I bought 3 day spas cash and now own a business that does just under $1 million a year. We don’t own a house because Sydney real estate is as fucked up as California at the moment and the market is filled with a bunch of f****** idiots that used to think like you the real estate is easy.

I’m not a dumb a** and I lost my shirt in the game. The problem with it today is everybody is short in the market and everybody thinks prices never go down and there are alot of suckers that believe Russ Whitney and Carlton Sheets, who make most of their money selling advise to the next generation of suckers. As P.T. Barnum said, there is one born every minute.

My advise to you is to walk away buy a surfboard and move to Bondi Beach for 7 years, the statues of limitations on most of your debt is 5 years and after 7 it wont show on your credit report. Other than that get an attorney and file bankruptcy. I have no pity for the f****** idiots who loaned you the money, so don’t have any shame for not paying them back!

  • The money came from the blog, right? So if you’d been here, you’d have made the same amount, right? And still have the $1,000 Can., too.

  • Hey Casey -

This is from Mark Cuban’s blog…it is about hedge fund IPO’s specifically, but it has broader appeal.

“I’m far from a sophisticated investor, although I guess I am an accredited investor because of my networth. As I have written before, I’m a big believer that whenever you do a business deal with people you don’t know, particularly buying and selling stocks, you always look for the sucker. If you don’t see the sucker, then you are the sucker.”

I’d be willing to bet that in most of your dealings, you’ve had a big neon sign above your head saying “sucker!” on it.

Or maybe I’m wrong…have you ever walked away from a deal thinking, “geez, THAT guy is a sucker!”

    Nah, probably not.

You make it to Australia on $400 and back? How on earth did you get such an incredible deal?

I have friends in Australia, if it were only $400, I’d love to go. Please tell me how you managed to get a roundtrip on a mere $400. The last time I went, it cost $1200 for the flight alone and that was back in 1999.
