Foreclosure Blog Advertising Renewals, and More Traffic / Media

IamFacingForeclosure.com Traffic

[Here is a letter I sent to my advertisers and supporterz, headings/links added:]

Dear I am Facing Foreclosure .com sponsors,

Sorry for all the craziness that has been happening. As some of you know, I decided to bring the foreclosure blog back up mainly in order to honor my previous contract with my publisher and avoid legal trouble.

Making money from blog advertising is the best way for me right now to stay afloat and feed my family. While, making money from future foreclosure / blogging info products and book series is the best way for me to start paying off my debts. I may get a W2 job if needed but for now I must take advantage of my only asset which is this foreclosure blog…

Haterz trying to ruin my ability to support my family!

Unfortunately many people out there are trying to sabotage my abilities to make money by spreading slanted / false information, ripping off my copyrighted content, posting my private emails and crap like that.

I’m here in Australia temporarily but I’m still working on ironing out my family situation and one of the best ways for me to be a good provider is to continue generating income.

Foreclosure blog traffic is increasing!

While all this is happening this foreclosure blog continues to get great traffic, and exposure from the media like the recent SpokesmanReview and CNet (with audio) / ZDNet articles (which was also picked up by ZDNet Australia and New York Times).

I was also interviewed by BBC radio a couple of weeks ago and that will be coming out soon internationally. I have other interviews like by GoDaddy radio and other things in the works.

As you know, I refunded all the sponsors based on what each of you desired to get back. After coming back online I kept the advertising going to give you good value.

(By the way, you can always check current traffic charts here)

Choices for I am Facing Foreclosure Advertisers

At this point I need to know who WILL NOT be renewing the advertising so that I can take the links down and make room available for people in my waiting list.

If YOU ARE going to stay a sponsor I will honor the original pricing and if you wish we can do a weekly payment so that you’re not worried about the blog going down.

Please let me know either way, as soon as you can and I’ll send you payment links.

Thanks for your support!!

- - - END OF EMAIL - - -

New Advertisers or Supporterz

Check out the advertising page for rates and packages. Or you can be one of my Occasional Supporterz with a payment of $50 or more. In return for your payment you will get a link in the “Last 5 Supporterz” in the side bar and on the Supporterz page.

    Hello foreclosure experts!!

What’s up next? When are you coming back from Australia? How is/was the trip?

Notice anything revitalizing-refreshing about the trip? Have you obtained new insight on life/business etc..???

  • Dang, you really are just like the president, who will only listen to people who already agree with him. And just look at how well he’s handled his past and present leadership roles! (To save you the research, he ran every company he was the head of into the ground)

  • [deleted]

  • At this point I really do not know what to say of all this. Yes you do have opportunities laid out in front of you that most may never see. Yet it seems as though you are not handling what could potentially be a windfall of money for you. I do not understand you. I can not figure out if it is your blatant arrogance or just outright stupidity that causes you to sit on things and pass the buck onto others. I have a question for you that I know you will not answer but I will ask anyway in hopes that you may shed some light on this. What did you accomplish in Australia and think you are going to accomplish that you could not do at home?
Just to let you know I want to see you succeed, but you frustrate the ever living s**t out of me when you do all these things that only hamper your success.

  • Casey,

This blog has gotten sooooooo boring for the last month or so. While you are busy self congratulating yourself and blogging about advertising, you are boring the lights out of your audience. You need to come back down to reality. I’m sure you are excited about the traffic and all, but I’m totally bored with it.

–Wow, you are making $2-3k a month. Still not enough to live on.
–How close are you to your September 10 goal of $5k in passive income? I think we know the answer.
–Book deal. Your publish has all but let you know that you won’t make that much money on the book. But he’ll do OK.

Without forecloses or watching you spiral down into misery, what is this blog good for anyways?

I no longer think of you as a slow motion train wreck. You are more like a slow motion auto accident on the freeway. Traffic has slowed down and everyone is rubbernecking (your hits). But its just a matter of a few months before your mess either gets cleaned up (feds) or we all just get bored and move on.

I’ll bet you $100 right now that you don’t have 150k in visits in October or 100k come a year from now. Wanna take me up on that?

  • Wow,

I spent about six hours reading your blog from start to finish (chronological order). I really appreciated the insight it provides. I’ve been thinking about getting into rental units. I know that I still have a lot to learn before I start buying properties.

I do have a word of advice for you. I’m a product of three divorces. Put your family first. It’s a lonely world out there. She’s stood by you through so much. She deserves you standing by her now. That doesn’t mean giving up the deal, the blog or your passion for real estate. That doesn’t mean failing your come back. But what does anything else mean if you don’t have her by your side?

  • Dude the IAFF blog auction is up to $20k if it goes to $30K will you really sell it?

  • It is not a real blog if you have disabled the comments.

You will lose the audience if you don’t let the peeps hate on you.

  • 10. Still no comment.
    June 14th, 2007 at 5:51 am

Still no comment on your “free” trip to Australia?

    1) Man gives you money.
    2) You spend money on luxury or want. A consuming choice.
    3) Makes choice free?

  • I’m here in Australia temporarily but I’m still working on ironing out my family situation and one of the best ways for me to be a good provider is to continue generating income.

How can you generate income in Australia when their immigration service makes it absolutely clear that people like you are forbidden to work - on penalty of deportation?

(Unless of course you obtained a work permit - but that would blow your “I decided to go on the spur of the moment” story to smithereens, so I’m guessing you’re on a standard tourist visa).

  • KC, go KC!

  • I still think you need to crank up a “Haterz” deal here…maybe charge 10 bucks to get your name listed.

I bet “Dee-wayne” would be first, followed by Nigel and then maybe me!!!!!

Enjoy your trip, maybe visit some of the sites…you might even make a “sweet” deal if you know what I mean!!!!

Julian-The Original Trailer Park Boy and Hater

  • Casey, good to see you getting your feet underneath you. Definitely a step in the right direction and I look forward to see what comes next.

  • Nice drop for the current month, assuming it’s vaguely current. The month is 47% over after all. I guess replacing your site with a white page might actually reduce your traffic, who would have thunk it?

  • HOW LONG DO YOU THINK YOU CAN HOLD THIS UP ?? HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK YOU CAN EARN FROM THIS ?? AND DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE WORTH IT ALL AT THE END??

  • more pictures, please! You flew half-way around the world and all we get are emails you sent to your former advertisers? PICTURES!!!

Actually, I have a good idea how you can make some dough while you are over there….hold a “photo scavenger hunt” to sponsor a return ticket to the states!

Get people to bid on pictures they would like to see you post.

Like….”If I can get ten people to pay ten bucks apiece, I’ll have my picture taken with a live kangaroo.”

A good way to see the country/continent while getting some scratch to bring back home with you….

I bet you could raise 500 bucks for a posted picture of you standing on top of Ayers Rock wearing your blue shirt (caption - “On Top Down Under - Sweeeeet!”)

    Seriously, man….

A picture with vegimite. A picture with Kylie Minogue (she’s like the Rich Dad of Australia, I think). A picture with an aborigine. A picture with….well, you get the picture. (dingos! More dingos!)

Sounds like easy money to me, and it would certainly make your site more interesting than it has been for the last few weeks (NEVER let that “publisher” guy post again …under any circumstances). And, you’d get to (sorta) justify your trip AND see more of the area!

    Rock On, Casey!

  • You should try to buy a property to flip in Australia. Do they have no money down loans for immigrants there? I don’t think they will check you U.S. Fico.

Nothing to lose, if you make money, the haters will hate it - more traffic. If you crash and burn and end up getting foreclosed on as usual, well that’s just more traffic to your site. And foreclosure is the subject of this blog, after all.

Its an all good win-win no matter what.

    Casey,

I’m about ready to lose my house to foreclosure and I understand that you have a lot of experience in this area.

Since this blog is supposed to be about helping people with foreclosures, can you give me any good suggestions how to avoid it.

I overextended my credit when I bought and now my monthly payments have jumped $450. I don’t have that much.

    Any advice would be great.

  • hang in there casey, some of us are rooting for you.

  • Hi All,

I was an early riser™ tomorrow/today™, but somehow my last several posts never made it here.

I wonder what’s up with that?

  • I’ll bet your many creditors are thrilled you skipped out to the land down under. I think you should have been stopped at the airport. You’re clearly not coming back to the states in this lifetime.

Casey, You are infuriating. It’s people like you who will lead to the downfall of our Economy. I shudder to think how many more people like you are out there, with 2 million dollar tabs they have no intention of repaying.

    I’M A HUGE SUPPORTER

A message to Rob Cote. You are an irresponsible bastard. How dare you criticize young Mr. Serin and go around driving drunk? You could have possibly killed someone you walrus.

Casey, Stay down in Austraila as long as possible. Meet a nice Austrailian girl that will not get in the way of your business. An entrepenuer needs freedom and a clear mind. Coming back to Sacramento will only further the soap opera. Stay strong young man.

  • Keep blogging and working on your site, think it will pay off in the long run. But yeah, as someone else said, take care of your family, they’re number one.

But if the auction is for real, maybe you’ll get a good price.

  • Dear Complaint Dept:

With the new improved happy comment filter, this site is losing its edge.

I still dont understand how you got an ETA w/o a return ticket. Australia is nothing like the US, Casey. Entering their country on a visitor’s permit with no return ticket would set off too many red flags. Please elaborate on this?

  • Has your “friend” come on to you yet? It’s only a matter of time…..guaranteed.

Keep sight of your passport. Better yet, either hide it, or keep it under lock and key.

Make sure you have a plane ticket or other way out of there.

There’s no free lunch Casey….no free lunch.

You don’t want to end up as a ‘white-slave’ Casey. This world is full of Eastern-Europeans (mainly girls, but some boys) who fall for this trap, trapped in a foreign country with no way out - unfortunately it’s very very common…..

    Wake up Casey…..Wake up……

You think I’m one of your haterz, but I’m not.

    Wake up…..Be careful…….okay?

  • Hey Casey -

As pointed out in previous comments (that were not posted, for whatever reason) you appear to have lost your sense of humor. That’s a shame! Turn that frown upside down, little man.

The blog is getting boring. We need ‘massive action’ on the blog - it is your only source of income, after all.

Sad to see it all slipping away. No Friday call-in shows. no interesting posts (with the exception of the Australia apologia (look it up - its a good word for you)), and no entertaining comments….blah.

OK - since you won’t post this, I’ll go ahead and send in some fake foreclosure questions so you’ll have SOMETHING to post.

  • Casey,

I’m close to loosing my house to foreclosure and I understand that you have a lot of experience in this area.

Since this blog is supposed to be about helping people with foreclosures, can you give me any good suggestions how to avoid it? Maybe a short sell? Maybe you can bird dog a buyer for me?

I overextended my credit when I bought and now my monthly payments have jumped $450. I don’t have that much money.

  • Hey Kid;

“I’m still working on ironing out my family situation and one of the best ways for me to be a good provider is to continue generating income.”

    Hobbit, you’ve been “working at”:

    avoiding foreclosure,
    getting a job,
    repaying every “dirty penny”,
    early risering,
    timely mail opening,
    contract reading before signing,
    expense-tracking, and
    getting your taxes done

    for how many months now?

What’s your battin’ average at those, Slugger?

So what makes you think that you’re gonna hit a grand slam home run on this latest item on your VERY long “to-do” list?

Knock yerself out Down Under there, Casey-roo…bounce with the wild wallabies on your blue ball, take a nap, and solve your problems “creatively”.

Don’t you know that IAFF is your blog-master’s one and only source of legitimate income?

The Hobbit is a very busy fellow, so his volunteer comment flunkie should work far into the night so that this derelict heap of a blog generates that sweeeeet passive income for Lord Snowflake.

Facing all the negativity that’s out there I just thought it’s time for some positive support. Utilizing all sorts of creative ideas and some real effort you have managed to make the nay-sayerz look like idiots. Creativity really IS the way to make it in any business not just real estate. Kangaroo country — who could have predicted it? Yet you took the risk of appearing to run away to in fact turn things around. Ordinary minds only get ordinary results, as you no doubt realized. Until the haterz realize that they’re never going to understand you!

  • Hi Casey,

I think you’re back in Sacramento. Just a suspicion. The days-long lag in moderating posts, the lack of updates. Heck, even during your Tahoe trip you posted a bunch of photos to let us know where you were.

  • Hey casey, have you noticed that as your life circles down the drain in Australia, it does so in the opposite direction than it did in Sacramento?

    That’s the sweet Coriolis effect.

I agree with Casey’s greatest fan, Robert Cote is a douche who can dish it out but he can’t take it. He is a fat wiener shnitzel comment deleter with a cheesey mustache. Oh yeah, he is a drunk driver too from what I hear. Good luck Casey, don’t let the haterz get you down.

  • So that’s why the U.S. has illegals working here, while immigrants have the good life at $7 an hour job cleaning toilets, Americans like this one feel sorry for themselves and make money from writing B.S.

So after reading a bit, I have concluded that you have only 2 emotions, selfishness and loathing of others.

Good luck, remember that B.S. wears out…

  • So there are all these comments here and
When there are all these different streams of
    “thought-comments” and people are thinking
maybe the same or similiar That being
thinking on the basicly the same thing,
but you really know it’s not always like that.

Ok, do you know what I’m saying or no?

  • Hey Casey,

I’m a successful investor who’s been doing this the past 5 years. I bought 15 houses last year and have gotten 10 so far this year. I want to talk to you and give you some valuable insights. Please email me and I will give you my number.

I know a lot of people write similar emails to you. However, I sincerely believe you’ll gain a lot

  • @Cara de Verga - Can I hire you to translate from English to Spanish for me? I’d like to see what you do with a restaurant menu!

It is slightly believable that Casey could go one-way to Oz and enter as a tourist. It’s a bit of a roll of the dice. They “could” ask for a return or onward ticket but they don’t require it.

You should stay there, Casey - moving internationally gives you a fresh start with credit and makes you even more judgment-proof. But based on what’s written here ya better get the ball rolling on the visa application and the FBI background check.

  • dude!! looks like you’re rocking away and doing some good stuff! Sorry to hear about all the crap you’re having to deal with… but at least things are moving forward for you.

Hope you are able to relax while in the down under!

  • 51. Agnostic Poster
    June 15th, 2007 at 6:57 am

I see alot of posts here offering encouragment to Casey and telling him to keep plugging away and he will get out this mess and emerge a better business person for it.

I get the feeling the persons posting these messages have not read much of Casey’s blog. It seems like these people have read only the “About” section in the upper right hand corner where Casey very briefly describes his situation, and then maybe a few of the more recent posts.

People, before posting any comments, be they “hater” or “supporter”, you should make an effort to be fully informed about the subject matter you are posting (i.e. -you should read more then just Casey’s “About” section and the few most recent comments).

If you read farther back in Casey’s blog you see that Casey himself very clearly and very openly admits to having lied on his mortgage application forms about his income and his intent to live in the houses he was purchasing. He also notes that he received cashback on several properties and did not inform his lender of such. It is not clear if he knew this was illegal at the time he did it (it is) or if he knew that he was getting more in cashback than the law in some states allowed.

These above descibed actions consititute, quite simply, mortgage fraud. Caey’s posts indicate that he fully aware of this, but, Casey does have rationalizations for why he committed these crimes (things like -the seminars I took told me it was O.K.; everone was doing it; it was standard industry practice; etc.) . Ratinalizations or not, his actions were clearly and without doubt illegal.

If Casey were ever to go to court for these mortgage fraud crimes, his rationalizations may count as valid mitigating circumstances (or they may not) but his rationalizations do not change the fact the fact that he DID commit the crime of mortage fraud (and he commited it multiple times).

All the posters here who are posting these posts along the lines of “many successfull business people failed intially” and “Abe Lincoln overcome all sorts of early troubles” are not condsidering that Abe Lincoln and these successful business people did not start their careers out with a crime spree.

Casey doesn’t mention the words “mortgage fraued” or “crime” in his “About” section. He refers to “mistakes” and positions himself as a failed investor trying to pay off debt and learn from his “mistakes.

Casey is not some unfortunate investor who had the misfortune to enter the real estate market at the wrong time and lost a lot of money.

People who invest in real estae LEGALLY without committing MORTGAGE FRAUD, and who lose money due to bad luck, I have some sympathy for.

Casey is not one of those people. Casey committed mortage fraud. Mortgage fraud is a crime. That makes Casey a criminal.

Even if Casey were to raise the money to “pay back every dirty penny” as he likes to say, what he did would still be a crime. Do you think an arsonsist could burn down a building then come back a few weeks later and say “Oh don’t worry about it. I’ll pay for it”? Do you think a person can walk into a bank, rob it under gunpoint, and then say a few weeks later, “Boy that was a mistake. How about I just give the money back and we call it even.” Of course not! These people would be considered criminals by all and would be prosecuted for their cirmes.

Casey is a criminal people. He committed multiple acts of mortage fraud. Worse yet, he committed these acts knowing full good and well that they were illegal (yes he has his rationalizations, but even he does not deny that he knew what he was doing was illegal).

Think about that folks. HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WAS WRONG, BUT HE DID IT ANYWAY.

The guy is not a failed business man. He is a criminal. Its just that simple.

People who commit crimes, regardless of what their rarionalizations are, are criminals.

CASEY - I hope you let this post through moderation. And I hope you respond to this post in some way.

You have scuccessly pushed the attention of this blog into the soap opera, the haterz, and all sorts of tother issues which have nothing to do with what this who blog started with (see your very first post).

I’d would love to see if you are a big enough, honest enough person to put the spotlight back where it should be - on the actions you took (i.e. -the crimes you commited).

    Casey,

You really need to check out http://www.daveramsey.com

This guy did the same thing as you in his early twenties… millions in real estate and lost it all to foreclosure.

He started over and built a fortune from the ground up WITHOUT USING CREDIT, and has helped thousands of people recover from bad budgeting and spending habits

And within a decade of going broke he “paid back every dirty penny”, and became a multi-millionaire again.

You could really learn something from him.

  • I really like your blog. I wish you the best of luck in Australia. Tell ‘em g’day mate! for me.

cut the “i’m keeping it real by revealing my dirty laundry” crap, keep that stuff to yorself and start putting some meat on the table, mainly topics about what you say oyu want to be talking about… like say, oh Forclosure a nd what to do about it.

the only reason people have invaded your personal life is becasue you brought it up.

People like Casey don’t know the difference between legal and illegal. Casey’s just out for a quick buck and got burned. Now he’s just begging, albiet on the internet. Meanwhile he talks of helping others with this website and his book, but we all know he lacks the skills, knowledge and business sense to put together any real business.

  • Hey Casey,

When are you coming out, I mean, the book?

    How’s Marty doing?

  • I just discovered your website thanks to all the publicity you got from shutting it down, if only temporarily. Anyway, just wanted to pass on a little wisdom from Luda by way of Pharrel: “don’t worry about them haters, keep your nose up in the air.”

    F*** em all!

  • This isn’t Casey. The writing style is VERY different.
