All You Have to Do Is Ask. Sweet!

Wow… I’m blown away! What a blessing!

After last post and the email blast to my mailing list I received an overwhelming positive response! I already had like 700 emails to process, now I’m going to have several hundred more to go through. But there is gold in my inbox… so it’s all good!

Sweet links are selling like hot cakes! At only $100/mo plus $25 placement fee, I sold 4 right away. Though the payment is still pending on the first one.

There are only 6 left and I have a bunch of people interested. The sponsors are excited to be helping out and riding the bandwagon of exposure (positive or negative - it’s all good)

QuickEstore.com stats

Update: this testimonial just came in from Sweet Link holder in position #1: QuickEStore E-commerce Software:

You will not be disappointed. Casey just put my link up a couple days ago and I am getting over 100 referrals a day, easy. You can’t buy that kind of traffic anywhere else for $100 a month. He’ll charge you $125 the first month, then $100 a month after that. You’d be crazy not to jump on this! The attached shows referrals from Casey’s site.

Update #2: I misspelled Housing Panic link and it was broken at first. Also, I was supposed to make the link read: HP’ers hate Casey Serin too. (Sorry ’bout that. Oh and if I get a little more money, I can get HP in the Sweet Links).

Also…

Offering Premium Advertising and Reviews. Just updated the pricing and benefits to give more value to the advertisers. Have some people already interested in the $500/mo spot and reviews.

Keep in mind… I pretty much let anybody advertise in the Sweet Links (as long as it’s clean). The premium spots will be available only for products or services that can help people in foreclosure or anything related to foreclosure. So, I will accept stuff on the topics of Real Estate and Real Estate Investing, Mortgages, Foreclosure Prevention, Debt Management, Personal Finance, etc..

On top of that…

Got a bunch of consulting jobs… too many!

On one I already received a $300 deposit on a job that requires setting up a blog, training the person how to blog effectively and helping out with marketing. I have an internal rate of about $75/hour.

The job is going to call for ongoing work, probably 2-3 hours per day. Maybe more maybe less. We’ll see. Now I just have to set aside time and give the person great service and value for the money.

From the emails already went through I already have several other contract job offers in my email box. Things like PHP and database work and other stuff.

Anybody interested in contract work? If yes, send me your resume and maybe I can hook you up.

So I am..

Right on track toward $1,000 by Friday!

Already have 682.95 in my PayPal account. Sweet! Keep in mind, I still need to do the work for the $300 deposit that came in for blog consulting. Also there is one uncleared payment for sweet link #1. Should be clearing any day. I gave the guy a favor and put the link up anyway, since he was my first sweet link advertiser.

Also, thanks to Keith of HousingPanic Blog for a payment of $52. Check out the Housing Panic Blog for great commentary on the housing bubble, real estate news and plenty of “attitude”. By the way, HousingPanic is where I got one of my first waves of exposure (even though it was pretty negative). But hey, it’s all good, and thanks to Keith for the payment.

If you want to make a one-time sponsorship payment, use the payment button in the sidebar. You will be mentioned on the Sponsor page and I may even mention you in my regular post (if I feel like it and/or the payment amount makes sense to do so).

And…

Thanks to everybody who responded to my mailing list update (especially regarding the big deals). Please be patient as I respond back to all the email and phone calls.

Last thing…

Personal info: as per my agreement with my [family], I have to be VERY careful now to keep my [family] off the blog and be careful about revealing stuff that’s too personal. That applies to comments. I’m gonna start being very strict with comment moderation.

In fact I’m going to disable instant comments for now because some of you guys have been crossing the line…. I don’t have time to police it anymore and there has been a lot of bad stuff the fell through the cracks already.

I need more help with comment moderation. My previous attempt to recruit moderators didn’t go over well. So I’m trying again. If you can help me out, please email me and tell me why you can be trusted to do this important job.

  • What do you do with the rest of your day after you spend a couple of hours on the internet?

Go read DM’s last post in the previous thread and comment please!

  • I say this to every Sweet Link sponsor present and future. I will NEVER buy anything from one of you for supporting this “looser”.

Your advertising dollars are wasted on me.

  • If you want to make a one-time sponsorship payment

How is this different to a one-time donation? Isn’t this just a wiggle-room end-run against your agreements “not donations” clause?

I’m going to disable instant comments for now

…thus making IAFF even deader than it currently is.

If you want people to keep coming back, Casey, you need regular new content. A post every 4 days isn’t enough; we can get real-time discussion elsewhere.

Good luck with the $1000 goal.

  • so what are you going to do with all this money? Pay back your creditors?

  • I tried wheatgrass shots for the first time. I had 2 and let me tell you, I had the worst diarrhea in my life.

  • To all prospective sponsors.

I will never buy any product advertised on this site. I will go out of my way to buy from competitors. I resent the fact you support this…person.

Hey Casey - looks like your getting some deals going. Of course, Casey - people will pay you for something you can do - ie. blog and set up a blog website etc.. rather than something you cannot do - ie. be a real estate investor.

Can you let us know you will be a man and be 100% true to your written commitment you have made re. $1000 by the end of the week ?

    Loads O Money

  • As I believe has been pointed out, you need to earn $1000 per week. You had better remember that you need to pay taxes on the money that you’re bringing in…

  • Hey Genius,

You mis-typed the URL to http://housingpanic.blogspot.com.

Keith at Housing Panic sure must be loving all the sweet traffic you’re pulling in for him! That $50 he wasted on you better buy some awesome new IKEAs!

  • Great blog! I just stumbled upon it in Google. Do you have demographic on your visitors by any chance?

  • Wow, it almost makes me sick how pathetic and self-centered this is. But I’m not saying anything you probably haven’t heard before.
It’s still more sad that people pay attention to this ridiculousness.
Anyway, my brother lives in Sacramento and has an interest in real estate. I’m hoping he doesn’t make any moronic financial decisions with that…but then again, he’s still better off than you. At least he has a job.

  • Casey, this is AMAZING!!!

    Good for you!

You are well on your way to FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE!!!

    FIRST! nananana

  • Casey, finally you got smart about making some money. But note that at $1000 a week, it’s going to take awhile to pay off your credit card debt. I think your last financial statement said you had $170k in unsecured debet. That means even if you used all $1000 a week to pay that off, it would take you 170 months to pay to get down to zero or 14.16 years (not including interest). But of course you can’t do that because you have to eat, pay rent, and pay Uncle Sam.

You’re young though, so perhaps this can all paid off by the time your 55?

    […]

  • Dude, what happened to you. You are starting to sound like a businessperson.

  • Well that is very good casey congratulations!

Keith would probably appreciate it more if your links to his site actually worked. There’s a typo in both of them.

Not very sweet, considering he paid you for a correct link, not a bogus one.

  • Casey, the problem you have now is your houses have all been foreclosed. Therefore what’s left to keep people reading this blog? The answer is the aftermath of foreclosure and it’s impact on your personal life, relationships, family, etc. These are real issues that many people are facing. It will also keep the haters coming back. If you’re not going to talk about personal info, then I don’t know what the point of the blog is anymore.

  • Hey Casey -

Are the people you are doing the blog consulting for gonna let you tell us who they are? I.e. - are the buying notoriety, cause they can get ‘blog consulting’ for less ( from a pro).

And, in terms of counting your dough before you’ve earned it - you shouldn’t count that 300 bucks yet. You still OWE them the work. Debt is debt, kid. Just like corporate America can’t book rev till its earned, you shouldn’t either.

And, to whoever is paying that ‘deposit’ - not a good idea. No honest consultant gets paid for hours they haven’t worked. (yes, yes…I know - retainers, etc. But, you can get a high school kid to do blog stuff, and most consultants at this level of talent would not ask for money up front. Especially those with Casey’s history. Actually, the more I consider it, the more that seems like its not real.)

    Anywho -

    Rock On, Casey!

  • Internal rate of $75 per hour? What do you mean by internal? I see two scenarios here,

    1. Cashcall/lender contracts you for an external consultation and upon arrival they strap you to a table and go through your pockets.

    2. Cashcall/lender(s) immedietly go to court to get judgment and immedietly levy your paypal account and then post an agent at whatever address you send physical checks to. Trust me, they’ll pose as potential clients or they’ll just supoena your ad clients.

Ok you don’t get to claim all of the $100 for the sweet links. You can only cliam 25% of them each week since its for the month. Also you didn’t mention how you plan on paying tax? Or do you? Heck you won’t go to jail for mortgage fraud, but tax fraud will take you under and make you someone “friend” in prison.

    Corey,

Though your actions in the real estate market contributed to this gigantic ponzi scheme, and ultimately lead to many many families being (temporarily) priced out of the American Dream, I do believe that your actions are now genuine. I do wish you the very of luck in your future business affairs, and I’m almost certain that you will undoubtedly bounce back in the future.

I totally admire your tenacity and sincerity.

If there’s any piece of advice I could give you, it is; money doesn’t (really) grow on trees, though it may have seemed that way the last 5 years, and trees don’t grow to the moon.

    Good Luck!

Casey- Let’s say I gave you a 125$ right now for one month of a sweet link. And at the end of the week, you only collect 999$. Which commitment are you going to break?

  • I haven’t bought any links or other services..yet.

And, honestly, my impression of Casey has never been favorable.

However, to those who say they “‘will never purchase anything from any site that supports Casey blah blah blah”

    Well, that’s just silly.

If I buy a link on Casey’s site, I’m not “supporting” him in anyway. I am just making a market transaction that makes sense for my business.

casey DOES have something of value and it makes sense to take advantage of it if the opportunity has reasonable ROI.

I probably make 1000s of transactions per year and I can’t vet every person that I deal with. If I refused to do business with anyone with ethical failings, well there would be no one to trade with.

  • If you sell all of your sweet links this week, what’s the plan to come up with another $1000 for next week?

  • 62. Bill Bloggs
    May 22nd, 2007 at 1:10 am

Casey, the money from the blog is peanuts and won’t last. Trust me, I ran several successful websites over a number of years. At the end of the day, the money from ads isn’t worth your time. Tell me please, how are you going to handle your debt?

  • “I will never buy any product advertised on this site. I will go out of my way to buy from competitors. I resent the fact you support this…person. ”

As one of Casey’s advertisers let me say that this kind of threat is completely unconvincing, and I actually am quite amused that somebody would think a potential advertiser like myself would be dissuaded by this.

By way of explanation, let me first say that I don’t intend on picking up a single customer from this site. Yes, you read that right: I don’t think my advertising dollars will lead to one single customer from IAFF.com. Let’s face it, precious few IAFF readers are in the market to rent a van for an extended tour.
But what I do think I will get is far more valuable: search engine optimization. Moving up even a couple spots in Google rankings is potentially worth far more to me then what I am paying for the link. So, seen strictly through the prism of a business decision, the “sweet link” strikes me as a no brainer, as I cannot think of another blog with wider exposure, where I can purchase such a prominent link for so little money.

And just to backup what QuickEMoney said: I have had a link for 24 hours now, and I already have 125 hits. For me, that’s a total bonus. I don’t care if I get zero hits. But 125 hits? What does that work out to, 3000+ hits a month, for $100? Anybody that knows anything about ad rates knows that’s a bargain no matter how you look at it. But with the occasional bits of mainstream exposure that Casey gets, I’m sure there will be times where I will get even more hits then that. And unlike AdWords, I’m not paying on a per click basis, so those occasional mainstream write ups are a total bonus.

But to answer your basic premise: do I care if you boycott my services? Well ideally you wouldn’t, but earning your business wasn’t the point of advertising here anyways. What I’m really interested in is SEO, and unless you can convince people to stop visiting this site (good luck!) there isn’t much you can do to diminish the value of that.

    Regards,

  • Casey,

I am so glad someone, who is not to be mentioned by name or reference, gave you an ultimatum. You needed some fire under you to get you to make a realistic plan with deadlines.

I guess you figured out what the cost of going for sweet deals without a game plan would really be.

    Colette

  • With the amount of web traffic you have, you should be able to easily bring in $1,000 in ad revenue off your site a week. Unfortunately, you’re the world’s biggest tard, so you likely won’t pull it off for too long.

  • Hey Casey,

Tracking (all) your income and your expenditure (Jetta fuel) like what you’re doing on your sponsors page, is what you should be doing. That way you know where every penny is coming from and where it is going.

There aren’t any contracts to sign and send back after collecting the required amount of money. So there shouldn’t be any Cashcall-like mishaps this time.. Just gotta show up with cash on the table on Friday… You can do it Casey! Sweet!

  • No “Hate™” here Casey boy. We are just trying to motivate you!!!!!

On second thought, maybe it is Hate™ and that would make me a Haterz™.

I think you should go ahead and “w**** ™” yourself out and eat a bug. Those guys on TV do it for money, so why not you? Cockroach’s are rich in protein and vitamins(which you are in need of). I’m not sure, but drinking wheat grass that has been processed in to a juice, does not sound very healthy to me. You never know, but someones dog or cat, not to mention wild animals could have pooped or peeed on that grass your drinking. Havee you ever seen what dog and cat food is made of ? I think you would be better off with a bug.

    Just food for thought…literally.

  • Casey, read this

    @ #12
BAM !!! hit the nail on the head with this paragraph:

“how long before they contacted you about a
late payment, how much did you rack up in late charges, how long
before they started threatening to foreclose, when did they actually
foreclose? People facing foreclosure will want to know all of this.”

THAT’S EXACTLY THE REAL LIFE INFO PEOPLE WANT TO SEE WHO ARE FACING POSSIBLE FORECLOSURE !!!

they are barely able to keep up with bills and want to know this from someone who just went through it. each lender has different timeframes. Casey has the inside knowledge of several lenders…some of which many readers facing foreclosure may have loans with. this inside track info of how close you can come before the actual foreclosure happens is GOLD and he should take advantage of it. People want to know how long they can live in their house wihtout payments, etc.

  • I’m reluctant to write, as that may encourage you to blog further rather than getting a real job. On the other hand, I can’t help but point out that you’ve found an audience and have found a way to make a few bucks from that audience. Congratulations for that. I suspect that you can keep this going as long as you can draw new visitors to your site. Sooner or later, however, your 15 minutes of fame will be over. People will grow weary of your gimmick: playing out the card of an irresponsible husband and fraudulent investor. When that occurs, your revenue will dry up and you will still be left with your debts. I suggest you follow the advice others have given before. Get a steady job and talk to an attorney about bankruptcy. Good luck all the same.

Good for you. You are finally making deals that end up in $$$. Keep it up, and haterz will have nothing to hate you for.

  • Casey

The Trailer Park Boys have hit on something here! Lets look at the numbers:

If you ate a bug for $30.00, you could consider it being paid for performance art. I think that would fit the criteria outlined in the “contract” you signed.

    10 bugs = $300.00
    20 bugs = $600.00
    30 bugs = $900.00
    33.34 bugs = $1000.00

It would also add some much needed protein to your diet.

    WIN/WIN !!

I’d pay $30 if Casey ate a bug on webcam. He could eat bugs each week and thus achieve his $1K goal. And he’d probably get a lot more nutritional value than from wheatgrass shots.

  • I am tempted to paste a pic of a lolcat here… this is too funny. Casey actually IS making money now. I am a hater, but this is kind of delicious. I suspect that making a couple of thousand a month is going to prevent him from getting a real education or a job and feed his delusions of grandeur. But I guess it’s possible he will turn into a megabrand and make millions. Either way, it’s getting interesting again.

I guess my ideal scenario is where Casey would start making serious money… only to be dragged off to a federal prison for loan fraud. But’s that the Lutheran puritan in me.

  • i think you’re on the right track. you were so wrapped up in making your fortune in real estate that you couldn’t see the forest for the trees.

  • hi casey, imo you could leverage the blog by having other contributors. maybe a real estate lawyer looking for exposure could do a weekly “ask a lawyer” thing, and a loan officer do a “ask a loan officer” thing.

would be easier than doing it all casey all the time.

I’d only like to remind you that those links you sold are supposed to stay up for a month - not a week. So next week, when you have your ten slots full, remember you cannot resell them. Just making sure you understand next week’s $$$ will not come from this blog.

    Hey Casey,

It’s great that another of your scams is making money for you now. You’ve been scamming people since you got here to America with the chain letter back at the tender age of 14.
Now that you are 24, your scam has finally worked.

Now why anyone would want to be involved with the laziest, lying, manipulative Christian in America is beyond me.

Remember, it’s never a “blessing” to be a selfish and greedy (So quit talking about how God loves your schemes).

  • Hey how bout someone hook KC up with a reality show…would love to see how he climbs outta this crap!!! Hey this is what America is all about…you can get out there and live…die…and rise again!!! KC…reach out to an exec at VH1…They would definitely hook you up. If ppl sat thru flavor of love etc., they would eat this up!!! You would definitely get paid and then you can “do the right thang by the Mrs.” I LOVE IT!!!!!! That is the thing to do man.
Even your whole persona…you’re a trip!!!!!!!! Makes it funny and addictive as hell…like u need your mama to wack u in da head a couple of times…keep it coming man…hehehehehehehehehehehehe

  • You know… I have been following this blog since the beginning, even though I may not post all of the time I do read it atleast once a week. I have come to the conclusion that the haterz are jealous!!

Why do you insist on putting Casey down? Yeah his RE business Flopped big time. I am sure that everyone here has made a huge financial mistake that they are embarrassed about.

Of Course, no one knows about it, except immediate family… Did they put you down when you were at the lowest point in your life?

My husband and I were dupped out of 10K by a reputible Contractor 6 months ago!! Because of this we have suffered financial losses that we would never even think of. We even had to foreclose on one of our rental homes. And couldn’t pay the taxes and homeowners insurnace that were due last month.

There are many things that happen in life… FOR A REASON!!

Look at Donald Trump! He filed Bankruptcy in the 80’s Look at hime now!!

  • So you’re going to make $1k this week for selling month-long ads, which you should have done back in January. If you don’t make $1k next week and shut down the blog, what happens to those people’s money? Cheerfully refunded? Or will you “get to it” like the Utah payment and then decide you don’t feel like dealing with it any more?

  • Hi Casey,

I’m trying to figure out how AFS, the “we stop foreclosure” people, helped you avoid foreclosure.

Looks to me like they failed miserably, what since you lost all eight of your homes, six of which went away via foreclosure.

Did I miss a blog entry? It’s great that they’re helping you out now with a $125 donation, but methinks their services would have been worth a LOT more than $125 about six months ago.

Did they fail, or did you just not seek out their services?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Brought in a few Supportz recently Casey. How many of them realise you are due to repay a $22,000 loan note today? Going to take a few months at $1000 a week just to pay that one back, isn’t it?
What are you going to do with the money, anyway?

  • 95. Mister Gash
    May 22nd, 2007 at 9:46 am

Let me just say that things are looking up. The links are going to bring you $1000 per month, and that’s 25% of your nut. I doubt you are going to sell out the five $500 “recommended” spots. Let’s say you sell one. Now you have $1500 per month, plus $1000 or so on the Yahoo ads. $2500 down, $1500 to go.

If the advertising and link sales hold out, it should be trivial to make the $1500 more you need. This sounds like work rather than making “sweet deals” but it will get you through. The nice part is that over 60% of your nut is somewhat passive. Just remember, it depends on you not screwing up this site.

  • Arthur here has brought up a good point Casey. What about that $22,000 payment due. Will it be taken care of? If not what will happen then? Well anyways, Ill be looking forward to hearing from you again.

  • Ok Casey,

Fine, you get the $1K this week but there are three more weeks in the month. You are delaying the inevitable. Low lying fruit is one thing but wait until you have to WORK for more business.

Did you realize the IRS tracks Paypal accounts? Fun times if you decide not to report this income next year. Enjoy the “sweet” cash now but wait until you have to pay taxes and social security with it.

Do you think you won’t get noticed? You will when the people paying for your “sweet” links issue you a 1099 at the end of the year.

No worries, the corporation will cover this? You do realize the state still charges you $800/year whether you lose money or not, right?

You say you aren’t a California Corporation? No worries, they don’t care since you do ALL of your business in this state. You still owe them $800 + any tax on profits.

If you pay yourself a dividend you have to pay taxes TWICE just for the corporation! Once for the profits, and second for the dividend! Fun in the sun right?

The IRS will argue with you if you write too much off. If you overvalue your sister in law’s office, they will audit you. Too many miscellaneous write offs also get the audit treatment.

You are screwed kid. You have no idea that you are STILL robbing Peter to pay Paul.

  • To all the Casey haterz out there,

Having put my website on Casey’s site was an outstanding idea. Traffic is not only up with hits on the site but actually the mp3 play is up.

I’ve also received some nice emails…and some not so nice. Most of them were nice and I hope to be in touch with all of you.

Many of the ‘not so’nice ones said,’ I will not patronize your website any more because of your support of a deceitful and fraudalent person like Casey Serin.’

Oh, really, so you would just patronize Casey’s site ?

Give me a break, who has reached the moral high ground?

In Cali, we call you people ‘rubber neckers’, no where to go but sit there and gawk.

There’s actually a blog called “what Casey means to say.” You mean to say that someone spends their time critiquing this website because…(?!?)… they desparately need a girlfriend, perhaps? This guy over there uses the blogspot template and then reviews other websites. What a moron.

The one thing I can say is that I think housing is in a downward trend for sometime to come and I actually wrote about that online several years ago and commented on it on Monster Radio (I have been the book reviewer on this radio program for a couple of years, my pal the Big Schwag, former voice of Monster Garage, gave me the gig).

So, if I were Casey, I would have used a little moderation in the past and, even he admits, mistakes were made. Also, I would have tried to get a fulltime job even with the blogging….but he is not me and I am not him.

However, even the biggest cynic would have to admit- what he has done with this website and the publicity he has garnered- was proof of his genius.

Being a hater, one only needs be cerebrally challenged.

I would like to interview Casey soon and see where all this is headed.

Another strikingly intelligent post. If Casey has the excuse he is trying to use this blog as a tool to inform people so they don’t make the same mistakes, then the advertisers have the same excuse. You can’t have it both ways.

As one of the advertisers, let me just say that your opinion, which is based on nothing, not even common sense, carries zero weight with me. Whenever I started reading this blog several weeks ago, I admit I resembled most of the closed minded people posting here. As the days went by however, one thing has become abundantly clear. Intelligence, education, hard work, W-2 job: all have their place; but in this age, Marketing is King. The ability to expose yourself to the masses is what makes for success. Those of you saying you would not post your links on this page are missing the point entirely. This is PR in action; it is the rare gift of standing out in the age of information bombardment. I, for one, WISH I had a business to advertise on this blog for the simple reason that you can’t “buy” this type of publicity. Forget about whether you agree with what Casey did or the manner in which he did it. I myself completely disagree with most if not all of his business choices. But I would be willing to bet in several years Casey will be the one lauging because he beat the system. And not because he is just “getting along”, but because he has achieved success. SW337!!!

You made all those haters/losers at EN look like a bunch of fools. Casey, you are indeed the man. Good Luck.

  • Hm, this place is just swarming with Supporterz™ these days.

Guys, stick around for a while. I was like many of you at first: Hoping to see him turn it around, hoping to see a success story come out of it.

But, it’s not that he can make $1,000 per week with his blog. Hell, he can probably make more. He might be able to pull off $6-8k per month with it.

I don’t doubt Serin’s ability to make money “magically appear” “out of his butt”. He stole $2.2 million dollars by admittedly, unrepentently lying on loan documents and swindling anyone who’d throw cash at him. At one point during his “forward failure”, he even emailed his friends and family members promising 24% return on their investments. (Oooo, gonna delete my comment now? I’ll double post on EN for posterity…)

What I doubt is Serin’s honesty and desire to right his wrongs. I believe that instead of using the money to pay back the people he took money from, he’ll end up eating at restuarants he can’t afford, drinking lots of wheatgrass and Jamba Juice, buying some new clothes and eventually a new car. All will be labeled “business expenses” and incorrectly justified by him in one way or another.

Now, he could prove me wrong. He could take what he makes this week, pay in some on his taxes (which he probably hasn’t even filed yet, seeing as he got an extension) and use the rest to pay CashCall. Maybe spend a *reasonable* amount on groceries.

Will he prove me wrong? Will he prove all of us haterz™ wrong?

    That’s what I doubt.

The value of your advertisement doesn’t increase when someone who has sworn not to support you sees it.

It seems that SWINTBMBNOR has finally motivated Casey to make some money … or else!

    Casey,

Congratulations on making ~$700, with more to come (once you can be bothered counting it). I think you’ll pass your goal of $1000 by Friday 5pm.

The detailed list of income and expenditure is the right thing to do. You should have been doing that from the beginning. Now how about updating your debt spreadsheet? Real businessmen put systems in place to monitor income, expenditure, assets and debt so they can see their position at any time.

I wonder where you expect to find the $1000 for the following week. You need at least 40 links at $100/month to make the income sustainable.

  • The moment Casey becomes a success is the moment Casey finally loses everything. No bank cares about the guy with $600,000 in negative net worth who owes them $2.2 million dollars.

When Casey becomes rich, though, the government gets involved. First it’ll be taxes. Then, after an audit and after they realize who he is, they’ll bring his crimes to the front and center of the public eye and Casey will just feed it more and more with his blog, unaware of the damage he’s doing to himself.

No one will punish Casey as long as he is poor and has nothing.

Ironically, he’s better off poor and broken down.

  • “The value of your advertisement doesn’t increase when someone who has sworn not to support you sees it. ”

“Someone who has sworn to not support me” is only a negative if there was ever a chance of them supporting me in the first place. Given that our services cater to a very small niche I think the odds we would actually lose any business from this ad are non-existent. It’s an empty threat. As far as I’m concerned the only way to diminish the value of my ad is to not visit Casey’s site at all, yet here we all are.

    I’m loving it. :)

“Search engines like relevancy in back links”.

Agreed, but the exact formula of popularity vs. relevancy is different for every search engine, and regardless of which engine we are talking about, I’m willing to bet that popularity is weighted more heavily then relevancy. Otherwise everybody would just start tiny blogs to talk about their business. There’s some of that, I’m sure… but I think popularity is going to win every time.

“Honestly, I’ve considered purchasing a link here for a client of mine, but I decided against it because I can get links from other sites that will provide the same benefit without Serin’s shadow over it…”

What sites with 6k+ traffic a day will link back to you for $100/month or less? Can you throw some names out there? If you have clients that are relevant to this blog, I think you just missed a great opportunity. Whatever they lost in support from the occasional haterztm would be more then made up by the SEO.

The only way Casey could “cast a shadow” on them is if they were shifty/lousy businesses themselves. C’mon people, we aren’t talking porn here, it’s a blog for crying out loud. Get over yourselves.

  • @138 SharkyL

To each his own, mate. My client is very well respected. I’ve used his services myself and he’s been able to help me make a lot of money.

Also, if Google figures out that you’re paying for a text link (and they will), then any possible benefit IAFF could provide would be nullified. (See Matt Cutts post. This blog has been reported.)

If it works for you, then yay for you. Enjoy it while it lasts and hope that Casey doesn’t yank your ad for someone willing to pay $110 per month or that the site doesn’t come crashing down when he fails to pay his higher than expected hosting bill…

For me, I’ll focus on something more dependable.

I hope this does well for you. Where is my comfort in seeing someone else fail? It takes cluelessness or courage to stand under that type of financial crushing force and not just give up. I wouldn’t say that it’s your courage, but just your clueless optimism?

I knew you’d figure out how to make things work.

I wouldn’t say you typify rugged individualism that made America great by any means, but your success does not detract from my chances of success.

I do hope you understand that because of people doing what you did, many many people that weren’t playing that game will suffer financially. Excusing it because other unscrupulous greedy types were doing it, doesn’t let you off the hook. I hope you don’t take that “sin” for granted.

Anyway, hope you can meet your commitments to your family. Seems harsh, but you needed some tough love to get your s*** together.

Hey, now you’ve got more money to misplace! like during the beg-a-thon, when you were gonna pay rent but didn’t.

  • @144 Trailer Park Boyz:

I have been considering your serpent-like tempting of Our Lord Casey to eateth of the bug.

To your dismay, I am going to recommend that the Most High indeed do so, and further, to do so in a sacramento-al manner by also drinking his wheatgrass juice shot.

Behold, O Immobile Mobile Homedwelling One…you did not specify WHAT kind of bug you would pay to see the Almighty KC eat.

Casey could eat captive-bred mealworms purchased from a pet-store and flash-roasted in an oven, yes?

Furthermore, you promised him a bag of silver for the consumption of ONE bug…does your offer extend to multiple bugs?

Therefore, his Serin-ness could conceivably roast a cage of pet-store mealworms, put them in a bowl, sweeten then with honey or raw sugar, pour soy milk over them, and eat them like breakfast cereal.

On Youtube, and to your financial impoverishment to match your spiritual poverty in challenging the Mogul Messiah.

And thus are your evil schemes turned against you!

    What say you, Lord Casey?

Display your power and confound He who is cursed to live upon concrete blocks!

Some faiths have a “Last Supper”…you could have a “Bug Breakfast”!

  • Hey Casey:

You appear to be close to your goal of $1,000 by Friday. Good going.

You’ve gotten individuals and businesses to pay between $100 and $500 p/mo for advertising on your site - which is great. However, for the site to have VALUE for your advertisers, you must participate in the blog by frequent posting.

You posted on Friday - got the traffic up…. then went dark until yesterday afternoon @ 3 p.m. - it was in excess of 72 hours of a subject posting. Since yesterday it has been 27 hours. This is not acceptable!

This period between postings is too long. You need to update and update often. And don’t discuss the $$ you are making - remain focused on the purpose and intent of the blog, which at the beginning was “facing foreclosure” but now should be focused on debt elimination.

In addition, since you’ve almost reached this week’s goal, you need to think strategically about next week and the week thereafter. This is known as REVENUE FORECASTING. You need to determine the revenue you are achieving, when you can expect payment, and determine, once you’ve sold your “sponsorship” and “sweet link” packages what you will sell for added REVENUE.

By my calculation - you’re “sweet links” will net you $1,000 over the course of the month. The “recommended premium” spots will bring you another $2,500. In all, that is $3,500 for the month. If you keep up your posting with daily updates on your debt reduction plan(s), status of loan repayments, etc., then you will be “earning” the $$ your sponsors and advertisers have paid. And, buy keeping the blog updated and fresh, this REVENUE can be easily repeated by the same advertisers, OR by new advertisers. However, if you fail to post and your viewership falls, your current advertisers will demand refunds (you didn’t live up to your end of the bargin for delivery of the blog) and future advertisers will walk.

One thing you must remember is that a large portion of your success has resulted from those you refer to as Haterz. Like it or not, this blog is, for many, entertainment…

    So please, start the show.

I am not jealous of Casey… I do realize that this blog would be named ibought8houses.com vs. iamfacingforeclosure.com if he had succeeded. I would never wish this situation on anyone.

She is absolutely correct. If you want to be a celebrity it takes work and staying on top of things. Like I said before if you take too long you will have lost interest. You keep loosing them and soon you will be back in failure. As you proved to your self a little effort and you made more than 2 weeks of needed money in less than a week. You have talent now put it into use and you may make it out of this mess unscaved. That will be a book worth publishing and reading and then you can become one of those experts or gurus or whatever you want to refer yourself as. By then you will have done what others could not do and you will have the proven track record.

Anyways, I think his point was that over time things will almost certainly revert back to form over time, they go up they come back down. Casey’s finally reverting back to his historical mean. We’ve found out over the past few months Casey’s fondness for various pyramid schemes, scams and other get-rich-quick efforts. But a couple years ago, Casey took all his money to Vegas and sat down at the 100/200 NL table. Turns out he was a GF and

Casey, that IQ test was a joke. Do not get too high on yourself with your score. I scored 129. I did it with no calculator and no scratch paper. And, btw, I rod sewers for a living.
